I enjoyed your presentation. I agree that the model of the library needs to change, as does the role of the librarian. However, I think that a reinvented library space is a vital part of our schools and communities.
Great presentation! What did you use to create it? I especially like the first slide, it expresses what I have been saying - The tools have changed but not the mission. We are lucky to have a digital media center at my school and a library media specialist to manage it and provide help to the students. Our school uses Raz Kids' Reading A-Z electronic reading program and most of the students use the media center to do their reading instruction on the computers there. We also use the Bookshare program which is specifically for students with print disabilities on the media center iPads. Many resources for differentiating learning.
Thanks - I used good 'ole Keynote to create the pages and then exported them as images for iMovie. I usually don't use iMovie for presentations, but it seemed to do everything I wanted.
Great song choice and I really liked how you organized the information. The images were great too! I agree, that the tools are changing but the overall reason we had libraries were to research. Through books, magazines, newspapers or computers, there is still the need for a library/media center. Plus it is peaceful!
